This week’s Red Solo Cup Challenge is strength. What gives us strength or what it means to us. Having seen quite a bit in my life, there are so many things that define strength for me.
Though, right now, I would have to say that strength is the ability to shake things off and move ahead. It’s the desire to grab a hold of something and letting it take you in a new direction. Strength is not letting people pull you down and giving in to their negativity. I would also say it’s the ability to open your heart when all you wanted to do was close it down. Being strong comes from within, and sometimes we forget it’s there, but if you’re lucky like me… your friends will always remind you where to find it. That’s what strength is to me.

So, it’s week 2 of the Red Solo Cup Challenge. This week is inspired by the Austin Powers’ movies and 60’s British Invasion. But, you can read more about that HERE.
I had an idea that I wanted to do to portray the Austin Powers movie (which is one of my faves), but instead I decided to go more 60’s mod. I knew I already wanted to wear the Ella hair from LeLutka, but the dress was harder to settle on. First, I was going to try to find a silver shift dress like the posters, but then I remembered ISON and the awesome boots and dress I’m wearing. Then, of course, it wouldn’t be a British Invasion without a taxi so I hoped over to home of Mon Tissu, the Mayfair sim and took my pic 😀 Hope you guys enjoy my concept and make sure you join in the fun and post your pics to the Flickr group
So, one of my favorite bloggers, Jolene of Next Pointless Trend, has issued a blogger challenge called the Red Solo Cup Challenge. Though, she shies away from the term “challenge.” Basically, she’s going to throw up a piece of inspiration and then we are all free to interpret it as we choose.
This week’s inspiration is a lyric. “We’re gonna ride the blue all the way to the end of the world” from the Dave Matthews Band’s song “You & Me.” I took it quite literally and this is what I came up with. I’m excited to see what others come up with and what Jolene has in store for us in the future!
